Human lung made in lab for first time

(CNN) -- For the first time, scientists have created human lungs in a lab -- an exciting step forward in regenerative medicine, but an advance that likely won't help patients for many years.

"It's so darn cool," said Joan Nichols, a researcher at the University of Texas Medical Branch. "It's been science fiction and we're moving into science fact."

If the lungs work -- and that's a big if -- they could help the more than 1,600 people awaiting a lung transplant. Lungs are one of many body parts being manufactured in the lab -- some parts, such as tracheas and livers, are even further along.

"Whole-organ engineering is going to work as a solution to the organ donor shortage," said Dr. Stephen Badylak, deputy director of the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.

Nigeria’s Central Bank governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has declared $20 billion missing in what can be described as one of the largest heists in the history of this planet. Off the coast of Dubai, in a project conceived by the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Nakheel properties raised an archipelago of 300 Islands from the sea bed. These wonderful private Islands built of 321 million cubic meters of sand and 386 million tons of rock, were formatted according to the continents of the World. The project cost $14 billion and is a world wonder. $20 billion dollars is a tall sum. Though Nigeria’s annual earnings from oil stands at about $80 billion, the nation’s budget is $29 billion. $20 billion we are looking for is 2/3rds our annual budget. It is a great abomination for the people’s $20 billion to have been subverted or stolen. The possibility that such a sum may be missing as is being analyzed is already a serious abomination.
There are several points being discussed and necessary to review in the case of the missing dough.

A grand jury may have decided not to indict Pastor Hamblin of the Tabernacle Church of God in LaFollette, but the snakes are illegal, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency spokesman Matt Cameron tells the Knoxville News Sentinel. “So we can’t return them.”

Reality TV Show Snake-Handling Pastor Dies… Of Snakebite (PICTURED)

Jamie Coots, a third-generation snake-handling Pentecostal preacher, died Saturday night after being bitten by one of his serpents.
Coots, known for handling poisonous rattlesnakes and featured on the Snake Salvation, was bitten on his right hand and died in his home after refusing medical treatment, NPR’s John Burnett tells our Newscast unit.
Coots was a pastor at the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name in Middlesboro, Ky.

A giant snake was dissected by an Indian villager while a crowd watched to reveal a big pig that the snake had swallowed.
The man carefully carved the snake, obviously to preserve it’s very expensive and well sought after skin, and brought out the consumed prey.
The villagers stood around in awe at both the sight of the snake and its prey. Watch video below:

Israel builds detention center in the desert for African Asylum seekers

The Isreali government has built a 9,000 person capacity detention facility in the southern desert where illegal African Immigrants would be detained. According to the Isreali government, the illegal immigrants who seek asylum in the country are becoming a burden to the govt and so they would be moved from the Shaharonim detention centre were they are presently being held to the new facility, a place human rights group have called a De-facto prison.

In this new facility which is situated in the desert, the immigrants will be locked down at night, and forced to check-in with the Israeli authorities three times per day. They will also be barred from working outside the centre. Continue...

Depressed man offers himself as food to white tigers in Chinese zoo

Chinese zoo keepers managed to save the life of a mentally disturbed man after he announced he wanted to improve the lives of caged tigers at a local zoo by offering them his own body to eat.

Yang Jinhai, 27, had posted several online messages about how optimistic he was about starting a new life after getting a job as a security guard in Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan province.

But he quickly found the job boring and monotonous and moved instead to a job in a printing factory where he also then resigned, saying that he felt there was more to life. Continue...

Goats and yams register for SIM cards

SIM card registration agents across the country are using pictures of goats and foodstuff instead of human beings during the registration process, Efosa Idehen, the Head, Compliance, Monitoring and Enforcement of Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC),  said on Monday.

He said: “It may interest you to know that after the telephone operators might have completed their own part of the registration and forwarded it to us as the regulators; we sometimes find pictures of goats and yams. We also do find pictures of  women with men’s name and vice versa.

“When information got to the NCC that some people were buying SIM cards without their biometrics, it became worrisome to us because the main purpose of SIM card registration was going to be defeated.”

According to Idehen, investigation by the regulator showed that SIM cards that were not registered were  used by criminals like kidnappers.
